Why is US Mail so slow now?
From 40 miles away, it can take over a week. or from another state....five or six days. Used to be a couple days.

It could be that fewer cities are sorting mail and have to travel further to a hub. My intown mail goes to the next city (35 miles away) and then comes back to be delivered. My hometown used to have a sorting station and now sends it 45 miles away. It also could be that less people are using the post office, so the post office is hiring less carriers to compensate.
