No. The Nano comes in 1, 2 and 4 gb sizes. The shuffle comes in 512 and 1 gb sizes. A 1gb shuffle is $100 and a 1gb Nano is $150. The Nano has certain extra costs (the screen), and they have placed that line above the shuffle.
At what price would a 512gb shuffle be? Almost certainly more than a 1gb shuffle. That would make no sense.
Wrong price points.

Honestly, i don't think they are going to for a while. The shuffle is there as an entry level iPod and i doubt Apple wants to push too far in to that. If anything i thing the next nano would be a bump up in capacity

It's likely. After all, it would make perfect sense if they doubled even that so the iPod 1GB (1 billion bytes) complements the nano (one-billionth) perfectly.

Doubt it. Anybody looking for that small a player might as well get a shuffle or an off-brand.
