"Connecticut’s Do Not Call Law was one of the first in the country, and was enacted in 2001 as a means of limiting unwanted telephone solicitations to Connecticut residents. Due to its success and similar success in other states, the federal government began a National Do Not Call registry in 2003. This registry is available to all consumers in all 50 states.
To avoid duplication of resources, in 2003, Connecticut's Registry and all of its registered phone numbers were shared with the National Do Not Call Registry, providing a nationwide line of protection against solicitation for our participants."
To get on the national do not call list, call 1-888-382-1222 or visit https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx
(Keep in mind that political candidates are exempt from this list so you still need to be rude and inconsiderate to their campaign volunteers.)
