A man rode into town on a Wednesday, stayed 3 days, then left on Monday. How is this possible?

    Monday is his horse. He arrived on "A" Wednseday and left ON Monday. No "A" before Monday.

    Rode a horse called WEDNESDAY TO town and BACK on a horse called MONDAY

    You didn't say he stayed in town for four consecutive days. He spent Wednesday in town. He spent Thursday and Friday in a nearby suburb. Then he came back and spent Saturad night and Sunday night, then left the next day. Monday
