Maybe you should get a better a lawyer than the one you are trying to sue. Don't take my word for it, but that sounds like the best way. This isn't an answer that has any sources to back it up, so if you don't want to use my answer I won't feel offended.

If you are talking about suing for prefessional negligence, it is easier said that done. How do I know? I used to defend other lawyers against legal malpractice cases.
Your are going to need at least two new lawyers. One lawyer will present your case to the jury and try to convince them that your first case should have turned out differently if the other lawyer had not acted negligently. The other new lawyer should be an expert in the type of case that you originally had and will testify that your first lawyer was negligent in representing you.
The other side will obviously have their own experts to rebut the opinions of your experts.

You'd have to find another lawyer to fight your case and it should eb a much better lawyer than the one you want to sue.
