CHOCOLATE CHERRY CHIP COOKIES
1 box cherry chip cake mix
1/4 c. soft butter
1 c. chocolate chips (small size)
1/3 c. milk
1 egg
1 c. chopped nuts
Cream cake mix and butter. Add milk and egg. Mix well. Add rest of ingredients and drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.

SOFT CHOCOLATE CHIP CHERRY COOKIES
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 (6 oz.) jar cherries
1/2 c. walnuts
6 oz. chocolate chips
Cream powdered sugar and butter. Mix in egg, vanilla and almond extract. Sift flour, soda and cream of tartar to mixture. Mix together, then add sliced cherries, chopped walnuts and chocolate chips. Mix again. Ungreased cookie sheets - bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
Note: Cookies do not brown like a normal chocolate chip cookie on top.

CHERRY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
1 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. cherries, cut up
2/3 c. coconut
1 (6 oz.) bag chocolate chips
Mix ingredients together. Pat into a greased 9 x 13 inch tin. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into squares.

Chocolate cherry cookie recipe, a great idea for Valentine's Day.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, separated
1 square (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring
1 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup cherry or seedless raspberry preserves
PREPARATION:
Cream together the shortening, brown sugar, salt, and egg yolk until light and fluffy. Blend in melted chocolate then stir in the sifted flour. Chill dough for 30 minutes. Shape into 1-inch balls. Lightly beat the egg white in a small bowl. Dip cookie dough balls into egg white then roll in chopped nuts. Place about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet; press centers with thumb to make indention. Bake at 350° for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and press centers again. Bake 6 to 8 minutes longer, until done. Cool slightly; remove from baking pan. When cool, fill centers with preserves.
