Electricity is over-rated. I spent last summer up in the mountains hiking between cabins that had no electricity. Long live the wood stove, I say.

There is definitely bliss in simplicity. My life is so busy and complicated it gets depressing. People are always bothering me, and technology is always finding new ways to help people bother me even more, augmented by electricity. Like buddy said, I'd live my life more or less like the people who lived before electricity was invented.

  • That would essentially put us back to the mid-1800s, so everything would be done by hand, using candlelight or kerosene lamps for illumination. We'd all get to bed earlier, too because we'd all be sitting in the dark. I don't think most people could handle it. Even the Amish have electricity.
