You know the car insurance company, Geico?

Was that name based on the gecko, or was the gecko based on Geico?

    The Gecko was based on Geico. The 1st ad had the Gecko complaining that people were calling him instead of Geico.

    The name is short for Government Employees Insurance Co. Guess that means the gecko was based on Geico?
