Why are most Americans so afraid of our Arab Allies?
Specifically United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia... Is this just a blanket fear of Muslims? A lack of knowledge about these allies? Or is it believed that we don't need Allies in that part of the world. Any details about your thought process would be appreciated?

People only care about things as much as they need to care. Which means they tend to have incomplete information and make snap judgements. And, since they only have enough information to be able to think a problem through to a given point, they tend to readily accept sophisms.
At least, that explains how Bush got elected, how he could be right about allowing the port deal to go through, and how he could screw up something as simple as pointing out that Arab-owned companies already run many US ports.

Conservative Pauline Christians have an ambigous relationship with Muslims. Though they admire the strains of homophobia and intolerance towards paganism present in some forms of Islam, they also revile how Muslims despise Paul-and Paul, not the Biblical Jesus, appears to serve as the main source of conservative Christian doctrine. (It has been suggested that the Biblical Jesus proprosed a level of adherence to the law on par with Reform Judaism-Paul jettisoned the law completely.) Aside from that, Conservative Christians bridle when historians point out that the Muslim rejection of the Trinity probably follows what a historical Jesus would have believed-the historical Jesus not believing himself a god.

*Shrugging my furry shoulders* If you are refering to the port situation I was not against it because of it being an Arab company. I'm simply against any job in America being worked by non-citizens.
It may sound a lil crazy, but US citizens need these jobs. It is past time we stop destroying the American worker by hiring cheap foreign workers as replacements. And it is completely rediculous to even consider letting our dock work be run by non-citizens, but the sad fact of life is that business teamed up with the current admin are doing their best to kill the labor unions. Dun fool yourself, that really was at the heart of the matter.
Perhaps once it is your job that has been outsourced, given to an illegal immigrant, or handed over to a foreign company to do, you might see things a bit differently.
What you call fear, I call survival of the blue collar worker...

I'm sure you are asking because of the Dubai Ports issue. It is more about the underhanded way the deal was handle. We have a president who does not believe the American public has a right to know anything!
