How can I get more hits on ebay?

I need help, I am new to selling and want to promote hits on my ebay?

Update:

I haven't decided if ebay or answers is more addicting? I think I'll ask? ;)

It all depends on what you are selling. Things that always tend to help are low starting bids, cheap or free shipping and no reserves. These all encourage bids and when people see other people bid, they are more likely to bid themselves. You can also advertise cheap shipping with a CS in the title or FS for free shipping; NR for no reserve and obviously the bid price and number of bids shows up in the searches.

Also, use different synonyms for what you are selling so they'll show up in more keyword searches. I'd recommend going to the "completed listings" for what you are trying to sell and rank them by selling price. Then, look at the ones with the highest prices and study their title, description, shipping costs, and starting bids and duplicate them.

That's my eBay in a nutshell course just for you. HAVE FUN! It's addicting!

People don't always do exact searches. Use some "trip up" words like many sites do. I remember one site that was selling x-rated pictures but used Mischa Barton's name (when she was 12) to trip up Yahoo search. So everytime anybody looked up Mischa Barton, that site would pop up. The same thing works for E-bay.

depend of what you are selling.

Try to advertise outside ebay on very specific forums/websites.
