1.They do not design or build cars as well as their Asian competitors.

    2. Their overhead costs (incl pensions & healthcare) are too high.

    3. The UAW cares more about self preservation & holding onto exorbitant benefits than it does about the longterm welfare of its membership, or about builing great cars.

    Over payed management

too many layers of managment Too top heavy

Complacency IE when Fords are not selling well they focus on quality and whene they can sell them faster then they can make them they get greedy and crank up the line and forget abought quality and that means a lot of cars sold with so many problems that the buyer has to deal with.

Source(s): Don't blame it on the UAW as only a very small percentage of cars that Ford assembles are actualy built in The USA. The worst quality car that Ford ever brought to market was actualy built in Austrailia by a Japanese auto company IE The Mercury Capri built my Mazda.

    1. They keep retiring the old but solid model like escort, and have some new model that is not as good.

    2. Production cost keep rising up but the market is cooling, they keep producing the big truck but selling isn't good. Fuel price keep increasing didn't help the big truck selling at all since their trucks only have 19-22/g, it seems like it's not gas efficient as good as the other brand.

    3. Their pricing on SUV model isn't affordable for normal folks. They drive their loyal customers away by providing not affordable trucks and cars.

    Source(s): silly opinion by me

    1. Boring Styling

    2. To reliant on large SUVs.

    3. There is no incentive to buy a Ford over another brand except for price.

    1) Rates

    2) Gas Prices (Hard to sell large trucks and SUV's with high gas prices)

    3) Marketing Campaign, really not touching the right markets.

That's just my honest opinion, but I love my Ford Focus!

    bad management

    Too much competition

    Bad designs comparing to competitors

but the main reason is that they are losing the market due to bad decisions
