In the USA the president's wife is called "first lady." What would we call the husband of a lady president?

in the philippines, he is referred to as "First Gentleman." since the USA and the Philippines have similar political structures, I would safely say that just in case Hillary Clinton becomes America's first woman president, Bill Clinton will be the "First Gentleman and former President of the United States."

Either the First Gentleman, Mr Bill Clinton, Mr President or even Mr Hillary Clinton :>). Laura Bush is officially known as Mrs George W. Bush so Bill might even be known as the equivalent although Mr President is more likely as he is still entitled to that title as an ex-President.

As Condeleezza Rice is unmarried, this may not be a factor in her case. In Canada, the term Viceregal Consort is used for the partner of the Governor-General. In other countries with female presidents, their partner is known as the First Gentleman.
