If you think about it rationally, why would every bank have a machine to create money? If that was so then why wouldn't bank robbers steal the machine and make their own money? That would be really stupid to have a million of those machines laying around.

So, as others have said, money is created from the US Mint.

You must distinguish between legal tender, i.e. paper money and all the rest of the money which is just numbers in bank accounts. Most of the money is just numbers in bank accounts.

The Federal Reserve which is a branch of the federal government sets interest rates and the amount of money each bank must keep in reserve to meet its commitments for cash that determines the actual money supply.

By the way, I believe the Federal Reserve is a part of the government but it kept independent so its actions are limited in terms of political influence.

Consumer loans is the reason Federal Reserve prints new money, loans are money that doesn't exist yet, but will be put into existence before it is actually made. Actually, the Treasury prints the money, lets the Federal Reserve dol it out.

Money is physically printed only by the U.S. Treasury.

The amount of money in circulation is NOT determined by the government. It is determined by the Federal Reserve, which is not part of the government. The Federal Reserve does not print money.

  • Money comes from the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT.Unless you are like an Idiot I know and make your own which I would not encourage anyone to do unless you wanna spend 5 to 100 years in prison like the idiot I know.

A blessing that is of no advantage to us excepting when we part with it. An evidence of culture and a passport to polite society. Supportable property.
