Manual tranny's use gear oil, usually 90W. The new synthetics are more expensive but are far superior to regular gear oil. It should say right on the container that it is suitable for all manual transmissions. Check Summit Racing on line, they carry some really great products and they're reasonable. They also have a toll free help line in case you still have questions. Good luck!

i believe that manual trans does use atf. alot of the new manual trans for gm use atf. as far as going to synthetic goes you can change to it anytime it won't cause you a probelem. if you are still unsure call your local gm dealer or a local repair shop most of them would be happy to tell you what type of fluid it uses. if you want to just check what you have pull the fill plug on the trans and stick your finger in it if the oil is thin it's atf if it's thick and stinks it's gear oil

Tranny oil (Dextron)...ha ha LMAO, that is for automatic.
In manual you use gear oil. There is a synthetic gear oil made to replace the petroleum type, but it is still not the same as what goes in auto tranny. Manual tranny very high viscosity (thick) lubricant.

definitely gear oil.comes in slender and taller container than reg.oil containers i say most popular is 80w90. CAUTION IF IT HAS BEEN USING REGULAR GEAR OIL A WHILE DO NOT CHANGE TO SYNTHETIC AS IT MIGHT DEVELOP OIL LEAKS AND SAME FOR REAR END DIFFERENTIAL

GEAR OIL ! SYNTHETIC OR NATURAL, ABOUT A 90 WY. I RECOMEND THE FORMER DUE TO ITS' SUPERIOR CHACTORISTICS.
