I need help with my task bar.?

My task bar has doubled in size how do I make it go back to the original size, and I have lost the little < . How do I get them back. Appreciate the help.

Update:

using the doubled edged arrow does not work to make the task bar smaller.

Update 2:

rearanging things on the task bar worked with the double arrow but I still need to find the

    put your mouse pointer on the top edge of the task bar, hold down the right mouse button and drag the task bar edge to the size you desire

    You can make your task bar large or small by using your mouse and take your curser to the top edge and when u see the little arrows (down and up) move it down to make it smaller.
