What are some good qualities of Democrats? Republicans? Americans?

Diversity fuels progress, whatever "progress" means. Just like with evolution, variation is what gets the process going, because with so many different traits (ideas, in this context), one of them is bound to be suited for the present environment. If everyone thought the same, we'd never have made it past the Dark Ages.

What makes us "good" people is irrelevant to politics; goodness is subjective. I think I'm a good person because I'm self-motivated, egotistical, strong-minded and law-abiding (for the most part-- and good-hearted, I think, but that's subjective). Political affiliation has no bearing on what gives us good qualities; no two Democrats are exactly alike, and I'm sure there's a pair of Republicans and Democrats who could get along in quite a civil manner. (One of my closest friends is a Republican, and I don't hold it against her. Haha, humor!)

Some good Democrats-Think they have have everyone's best interest at heart with their social programs. They sadly don't work, but the fact that they care enough to try.

The good Republicans-Fight tooth and nail for what they believe despite the fact that they are lambasted in the media right or wrong. The republicans believe in your own self intelligence and your ability for the most part to govern your own life and they won't tax you to take that money and govern you back with it.

Americans-We're a very generous nation both in supporting government aid to foreign countries and within our own individual live's because we do the small things every day like taking canned food to church, or buying a $20 ticket for the humane society raffle and then we really pitch in if we're a rare angel or when the going gets tough by driving half way across the country to help flood victims or spending most of our free nights volunteering to tutor a child.

We helped kick Hitler's *** and brought down the Soviet Union.
