is there any way to induce my dogs labor at home?
She is right at 63 days and I don't want her to have to go to the vet and have a c-section.
Thank you all for the info. She is doing fine and getting ready to go any time. temp is down to 98, and she isn't eating at all, or even wanting to move. Yes we have all items needed for the birth. We have had a litter end of last year, however this is this dogs first litter. Thanks again.

She is fine at 63 days. You have 3 more days before you need to worry.....Are you ready for the babies? Have a heating pad or hot water bottle? A roll of paper toweling? A can of goat milk (mix 1/2 and 1/2 with warm water) or Esbilac, with a bottle and nipple? A basin for warm water? Lots of bedding.......will need changed several times at it gets wet, depending on how many puppies she has..A safe whelping box?
You can tell if she is ready..She will refuse food(a treat) just hours before going into labor.......she will scratch the rugs or her bedding to make a nest....she will be whining or restless, turning in circles, panting, perhaps drooling.

As said above,63 days in an average, not a number set in stone. If she doesn't have the pups in 3 more days, contact the vet.Don't try to induce labor at home on your own,it could be dangerous to you dog and the pups. It's not something an inexperienced person should be doing on their own.

63 days is fine. you can wait 3 more days and then contact a vet. she will refuse food and start nesting. when temperature has went down to 99 or below she is in first stage of labor.

NO....That could be very dangerous for the dog if it is not supervised by a Vet. I wouldn't do anything without medical advice. You don't want to put your dog in harm's way. If she doesn't have them normally, there could be a serious health problem that you are not aware of.

Please don't do anything without help from your vet. Nature will happen even though it's kind of sad to bring in more dogs in a world over run with too many pets with no homes. Makes me sad. Poor dogs.

There is no way to do it safely. She could bleed to death if there is something wrong with her. The puppies could also be killed in a home attemt

I wouldn't see any problems in being late. All my kids were two weeks late. Dogs, well, they can handle it, too.

Poor dog, no please don't try it.
