I live in Ohio and have 6th grader that I would like to home school.?

Is there any home school program that anyone knows of in Ohio? Also we are low income and the home schools I have found are way out of my price range, anyone know anything that can help? Thank you.

Some programs you might be interested in:

    Alpha Omega

Education Direct / Penn Foster -- high school only and careers

    Jubilee Academy

    The Morning Star Academy

    K12 Homeschooling Company - www.k12.com

    Heritage Homeschool

Those are some--you may choose from...Some may let you choose monthly, in order to pay monthly payments, since you're a low income family. Some payments are as low as 90$ a month...

Then...there is a site...in the sources tab; hopefully, it will help you. if not, email me at Luvs2Write16@aol.com, and I will try to help you more.

    Thanks,

    Michelle

I got a handful of friends that are home-schooled. Some are doing it because their parents are forcing them and some are doing it because they got kicked out of public skool. What they've been tellin me, is that "Home skooling sux" To piggy back on what Jack said, yea, they do get in a lot of trouble cuz they dont know what the deal is. They dont socialize a lot, they're kinda timid, its weird for them. also, they may not learn as much as u think. I have another friend who is horrible in english, cant spell, doesnt know what adjectives, adverbs, and verbs are. U know, the simple stuff. I really wouldnt recommend puttin yer kidd in home school, unless they did get in trouble and this is the last option.

Yes, home schooling isn't the answer. Though you may be able to teach your child at home it still takes away the interaction with other children and affects them really bad socially. There is a kid that lives down the street from us that is home schooled and he is constantly getting in trouble because of not knowing how to react with other kids his age. Sometimes we believe that we are doing the best for our children by sheltering them but, knowing the difference between sheltering and overprotecting can do alot for their future.

Homeschooling is fun. I have a friend who home schools her daughter.
