How can u find old newspaper articles on the computer?

I was in a house fire when I was 2 which was 16 years ago and our town has a newspaper that comes out every wed and I want to look for an article on this, how can I do this without paying ne thing?

    Look for their web site & see if they have an archive of old stories or check the local library to see if they have a copy of the paper.

    Most decent-sized library systems carry microfilm copies of one or more newspapers from your region. Try that. Also, Poynter Institute released a book several years ago featuring newspaper front pages from September 12, 2001 including the NY Times, LeMonde, Miami Herald and even some prestigious college papers. Google Poynter and 9/11. You'll find it. It's still in print.
