I love horses!!! share your favorite (real life) story on horses!!!?

My first and only horse, Molly, passed away 2 months ago at the ripe old age of 35. There are many, many wonderful memories and stories to share, but here's one anyway...

I'm not very good at reading maps and i am very good at getting lost. When i first moved to a rural area with my Molly, we did lots of riding through quiet streets and bushland. Often, we would go out riding in the evenings, by the light of the full moon. It was so beautiful to see the moonlight and take note of the sounds and smells that surround you. On a number of occasions (i am very embarrassed to say) we (i) got lost. In dead end streets, on bush tracks, you name it. Anyway, each time we got lost, i would drop the reins and say 'C'mon pony, lets go home and have some dinner'. Within minutes we would be home! My very old and wise horse would sniff the ground like a dog everywhere we went so that he could find his way back. Sometimes we were just around the corner from home, sometimes we were miles away in bush in the middle of nowhere. Thanks to my smart baby, we never got seriously lost. It was amazing to see him in action!

When the young Rodrigo came of age, his godfather granted him the pick of a herd of beautiful Andalusian horses. The boy could not wait to enter the corral and make his choice. After looking for a while, his eyes fell upon a white foal who, for some reason, stole his heart. The priest was astonished and disappointed and called the boy to task for choosing such a frail and poorly formed figure of a horse. Rodrigo defended his choice and named him Babieca, my stupid one, the name that had been shouted at him for being, in the eyes of his godfather, such a poor judge of horses.

I got ran over by a horse when i was 2. ever since I had hard time riding a horse. the end.

i love them too. when i was small i rode a horse under a clothes line and i forgot to duck!!!now i have a daughter i bought her an Arabian. a beautiful liver chestnut mare with flaxen mane and tail.my daughter rides English and competes at local jumping shows. its great fun. she has ribbons all over her room.my favorite story is how this little mare kept my daughter in the barn and show ring and out of "trouble" for her entire high school years. she is a senior in collage now and cant wait to get back home to her little arabian.
