Do some people answer with this is a violation of community guidelines just to get points?

Not all people. I have answered with that response before, not to get points. If I only wanted points I could put in any reply. I say that to let other users know when they are doing actions that could ultimately result in their suspension and that would really suck for them. Alot of times people arent aware of the community guidelines and I think if they are told they are doing wrong they appreciate it in the long run. I consider it being helpful.

No. I've answered questions like that before, but I wasn't doing it just to get points. All I was doing was trying to make the person who asked the question aware that they were violating the community guidelines and terms of service. Personally, I could care less about the points.

No, I don't do that to get points. I think it would be helpful to everyone to know that guidelines exist and that they are enforced. Some questions seem innocent enough, but are also potentially dangerous. (Such as a child -- or at least someone claiming to be a child -- giving out her email address.) It is a violation of the guidelines to solicit other users, but I also want her (and others) to know that it is extremely dangerous to give out your email address to strangers -- especially when thousands, or even millions, of people can read it.

By notifying someone that they are violating the guidelines, I also give them the opportunity to delete the question themselves, thus mitigating the abuse.

I don't think so... I think it's beneficial to the community to spread the word about what is, and isn't acceptable. Not everybody reads the blog (or community guidelines for that matter).

you may want to be new. you're lower than the impression that's useful to violate some community handbook to get a contravention observe or maybe get your account deleted. in no way. some can rfile you in the adventure that they don't like the color of your lipstick (no, that is getting fired). you need to be pronounced for any reason by technique of any 2 human beings. Yahoo pcs basically notes that 2 human beings don't like your answer. Bingo! done! Welcome. basically keep on retaining on.
