Can you help me find this quote about writing?
I can remember hearing a quote that went something like "All writers are actually readers who have been awed into imitation" but I can't remember the exact wording or who said it. Does anyone know this one? I'd love to put this up on my wall.
I asked this question on the Books & Authors board a couple of days ago and haven't had much of a response. Maybe someone here can help me.
I'm not sure that's the exact wording. I've tried search engines and came up with nada.

Try an advanced Yahoo! search for this exact phrase. And yes, all writers started out as readers.
btw--they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery--it can also be the shortest route to a lawsuit for copyright violation--
