Should I get a prenuptial agreement?

My fiance and I are 22 and have no assets or investments. Is it necessary?

I disagree that you should call your marriage off for asking this question - that's silly. I don't think you need a prenup, but I do think you are smart to think everything through before you enter into your marriage. You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders for someone so young.

If you even have to consider it I think you should vote marriage out. Marriage is about the combining of assets and lives. Regardless of how much or how little. If you are so rich that you are worried that someone will try to bleed you dry then you shouldn't even consider marriage to that person. If you have no assets or investments and still consider a prenup then you just have issues.

from my experience, and thats being divorced once, if either person has assets or doesnt or has concerns about their mate then 1 it should thoroughly be discussed and 2 if both agree that for whatever reason you feel you should get one then do. But i also think that unless there is a very good reason for a pre nup that it shouldnt be gotten. for instance if my boyfriend and i get married there will be a pre nup the reason being is he has 2 kids and many assets so it is more logical for us to have that so just in case the marriage failed for whatever reason he would be covered.

What would you put in a prunup if you have no assets?

it doesn't matter if you have assests or not. it just ensures that if anything should happen,e.g. a divorce, death etc you get compensated in some way. avoids or lessens nasty law cases, divorce settlements etc.

Question is, if you need to ask that question should you get married yet?

no neither of you have anything, you are both broke, so no need to worry
