Can I bring back 5 - 200ml bottles of wine from Canada per person? Do I need to declare them at customs?

I want to purchase several bottles of icewine in Canada and bring them back into the US as gifts and for personal consumption. The bottle size is 200ml. From everything I've read, it seems like I can bring a total of 1 liter back per person and duty free. Do I need to declare them as I cross back in?

Yes you can bring it back and do declare it. All declaring means is you pay tax on the over limit items. SO you may have to pay $5.00 for what's over and you are legal.

As a rule of thumb if you don't know, declare it! It's always better to be safe then sorry.

It will depend on how long you are in Canada as to how much you can take back without declaring it. Check with the local stores they deal with this all the time and should be able to give you some idea.
