Any professional or amateur photographers went from 35mm to digital SLR?
I believe Nikon & Olympus are the best, but i still like 35mm, but want to go digital. I love taking photos and shooting weddings. Also, I need help starting my own business. Help in this turning point?

Yes... We have just changed over our portrait business from 35mm Nikons to Canon 20d's we went with the 20d due to the fact that Canon Digital is so much better than
Nikon and for price which has come down over 300 dollars since we have switch. I was a Film purist until i started using the 20d and will never return. I havent loaded a roll of film in months. ya know anyone who want to buy a nikon setup :)
good luck, start small with your business and keep a low overhead. also suggest try getting a job for 6 months or so with an establish photographer you can learn so much and get paid!

Plenty of professional people moved from film to digital. The phtojournalists were the first ones, as the digital allowed them to produce news photos with unprecedented speed. Other pros followed and with the advent of 10 million + megapixel sensors, the quality of film is no longer superior to digital. Now (and always) it is about the lenses anyway. Another huge advantage is the digital lightroom....a computer and good software...no need for the whole darkroom setup. Nikon and Canon are the leaders in the DSLR market. If you are going pro, I'd suggest Nikon D2x or Canon 5 D (which is full frame 35 mm sensor).
