How do I buy pet food on a budget?

I have a really low pay this fortnight and was wondering how can I feed my cats and dogs as cheaply as possible but with decent food?

You can often get a better quality food for a lower price if you go to like a discount dog food or farm supply store. Grocery stores are the worst place, and pet stores are pretty bad too. They are expensive even for the crappy food.

And if all else fails, I have been there before, and rice or ramen noodles with some cheap lunchmeat or hotdogs chopped or ground up and mixed in will last them for a while. (I love my dogs and have been broke too, so mine lived off of ramen noodles and hotdogs for two weeks once)

Also keep in mind that if you buy a really cheap dog food, it will be lower in quality and you will often have to feed more to get the same nutritional value as you would from a better quality food. Read the labels to see how much to feed. A brand that is more expensive may help you out in the long run if you get the same nutrition out of a smaller amount of food.

Look for sales on the pet food that is best for pet. It is not good to use different foods for pets. Buy in bulk. It may cost a lot at one time, but you will not have to buy often. Purina is the only dog food I have ever used for all of my doggies. They have always been extremely healthy. Hug them a lot.

You could always look up a brand name pet food supplier on line and see if their are any on line coupons available to print that should save you a few dollars.

FYI One time when my kids were very small and i was having a hard time buying things such as laundry soap etc. I called the company that was on the empty product and complained about their product and they in turn sent me coupons and a rebate for future purchases.

I dont know how many pets you have but buying low cost food for your pet may seem like your saving money, but in the long run it will cost you..the better the food, the longer it will last because your pets are eating less...they are eating less because they are getting what they need in their diet..also it may cost you more in vet bills beacuse the walmart brands etc. dont have all the nutrients your animal needs...Ive tried the cheap brands and then switched to the better ones and found this to be true...good luck...

Maybe you can ask you're pet to go on a diet, its sort of like that line in the movie. Joe asked "What's less fattening than a sangwich? Jelly answered " a half a sangwich"

this was for entertainment only , oh and 2 points

Watch for sales. Maybe check prices at a few stores. If you can handle it, the larger bags usually are cheaper overall. Feed your animals the minimum they need in order to stretch the food longer.
