I am visiting Miami for the first time in a month - can anyone please suggest what to do in a weekend?

It really depends on what type of vacation this is. If this is a family vacation then there are several family style attractions: Miami Seaquarium, Parrot Jungle and Gardens, Miami Metro Zoo, and the Monkey Jungle.

If you are looking for great shopping there are a variety of malls, like the Dadeland Mall. If high class is more your style then the shops at Bal Harbor or the Village at Merrick (in Coral Gables) will not disappoint :) For the mega-malls, try the Dolphin Mall.

If you are in Miami you cannot miss the Cuban food....don't worry, anywhere you go you can find a place to stop (hint, the little "cafeteria's" are the best)!!!!

For night life, of course Miami is most famous for its South Beach area....a bit less crowded, but still nice is Coconut Grove.

Just a short drive from Miami is the Key's (about an hour and a half)....worth the drive for a day at the beach, great seafood, and of course....KEY LIME PIE!

It depends on what you like. Most tourists seem to want to do the South Beach thing, but there are other things to do (always concerts & festivals going on). Check the New Times papers for a variety of events. Also check www.sun-sentinel.com (mostly Broward/Ft Laud news, but there are Miami events posted) & the Miami Herald. But if you like reggae & hip hop, check www.partyspree.com

You should so go to DADELAND STATION or SOUTH BEACH!!!!!!!!You should also go to MONTY'S it is an awsome reseront.
