What is the meaning of 'Tre' at the beginning of Cornish surnames?

Cornwall has a lot of surnames and places beginning with 'Tre" like Trevaskis, Treglown, places like Trelisick, I would like to know if Tre has a meaning, also it's origins if possible

    Tre means town or farm.
