there is no need to go to the vet so soon - unless you suspect problems - they are at risk for illness so dont do it....

they will need to be checked, dewormed, and vaccinated 2 or 3 days before leaving home though.. DO NOT SELL THEM TO A PET STORE what ever you do!!!!

also make sure mom is on REALLY good quality puppy food (good quality = chicken or lamb meal as first ingredient.. no by-products)

they won't clip your puppies' tails, they don't do that to dachshunds.

I bet they'll check their heart beat, temperature, and everything else that's necessary.

They'll probably not get any shots yet though.

I'm not absolutely sure about your area but when my dog has puppies they do imunization shots, and clip their tails. it usually costs about $200 for a litter.
