Have you ever made bread pudding?

Can I substitute coconut macroons for the bread and use crushed pineapple or cherries instead of the raisins?

If you are using macaroons, pineapple and cherries, I would just forego the bread pudding, get whipped cream and make a trifle by layering the crushed up macaroons, cream and fruit in a clear dish.

You could add some macaroons, but you will need a bit of bread to absorb the liquid. Crushed pineapple will be a lot more juicy than raisins so you will have to add more bread or macaroons to compensate. The cherries would work better.
