Just like there is hip hop or Rock music all over the world. Do other countries sing "country" music?

    Depends on how exactly do you define country music. Dictionary says... simple style of folk music heard mostly in the southern United States; usually played on stringed instruments.

    If i assume country music to be equivalent of folk music then it is prevalent across every round and corner of this world.

    But if you are talking about southern united state flavor then i doubt if its even heard outside of US.

    In England they DO NOT know what country music is...lol

    or rednecks...lol so its craazy I went to visit on exchange and I played the heck out of my Kenny Chesney cd and the people i was living with was like what genre is that... and i said country.. they didnt quite understand..lol but it was funny cause everytime i played it they were clueless looking..lol

    i think there's all sorts of music from everywhere. my boyfriend's parents brought back an isreali hip hop cd and i've heard french country music...
