Play Station 2 Disk Error repairs? Any body know how to fix these?

Which versions is it? Old and big or new and small? If it is the old one then.... take the game out of it, unplug it. You will need 1 reg. sized phillips screwdriver, and a small phillips. Turn the system upside down and there are about 6 rubber peices on it. Take those out to expose the screws and take those out. Put it right side up, and take off the top. You'll see a black box with a yellow sticker. Use the small screwdriver and take out the 4 small screws. Take the top of that off to expose the laser. Take a Q-tip and lightly get it wet with windex or rubbing alchohol. Get it almost dry, and clean the laser. Then there is a white spindle that can be adjusted up and down. You can turn it on put a disc inside after making adjustments and try it. If it doesn't work adjust it again untill it does work. I used to repair them locally for a long time.

It can be caused by many things. First thing to try is cleaning your disc. Sometimes smudges and fingerprints can make it impossible for the disc to read correctly. If that doesn't work try using one of those laser cleaner discs. If the problem is with your laser this MIGHT work. If nothing happens with either of these methods you'll probably need to get your PS2 fixed. Either send it into Sony or buy a new one.

You have to take it in to someplace that repairs ps2 cuz it's something with the position of the lens inside. You can do it yourself if you can find the website where it tells you exactly what to do.

most likely it is a problem with your laser

you would have to send it out to have it fixed or replace but it takes a long time to get it back

its best just to get a new ps2
