You need to tackle it from two different directions:

1.) Decrease the number of calories you consume in a controlled way - if you crash diet the weight you will loose will be lean muscle. Not only will you put the weight back on quickly but you will struggle to loose it in the future it muscle that 'burns it off'.

Try supplementing processed foods with more fruit and veg but make sure that you are getting all the correct food groups.

Try the links on this page:

    http://www.nutrition.org.uk/home.asp?siteId=43%C2%...

2.) Take more excercise. Doesn't really matter what you do as long as you get mildly out of breath. Do this as often as you can (at least 20mins a day).

It a myth that you can reduce fat in certain areas of you body by targeting them alone so don't do loads of stomach crunches at the expense of other exercise - you will just hurt your back.

Start with 30 crunches, 10 forward and 10 on each side (left and right). Then do some dieting like Atkins (low carb) or After Six (no eating after 6:00 pm). Then do 50 crunches after 3 days.

Reducing the size of your meals will reduce the size of your stomach but to lose weight you need to watch the calories you take in and exercise.

If it's the actual stomach (not your gut) that you want smaller, either staple surgery or stop eating for a while and the stomach may shrink in size.

sit ups or crunches work the best. Or, if you are able to, hang on a bar or similar and lift just your legs. You will feel the burn quickly. If it aches the next day then it's working. Don't over do it. Don't expect results right away.

-sit ups: lay on your back bend your legs so that your feet are flat in front of you, put your hands behind your head then lift your upper body to your knees.

-crunches: lay on back with legs flat in front, put hands behind head, lift both your torso and legs to the half way point.

--leg lifts: hang on bar or beam keeping upper body still, lift legs up, without bending knees, to waist level or near as possible.

exercise is the only healthy way. sit ups and crunches do work but something that I have found helpful is boxing. It is a great cardio workout which is vital to loose the weight around your tummy but it also works your abs, especially when you do upper-cuts and hooks.

    Have fun!
