Is Iscariot a real last name?

Update:

I understand that it is a biblical name but do people still have it as their last name, possibly spelled differently. If not does anyone know why the name would have disappeared, other than the obvious?

Iscariot was the kind of person Judas was. An Iscariot was a radical of the day. They wanted to liberate Israel of Rome.

No. His real name was Priest, but he couldn't use it for legal reasons (Judas).

Yes, read it as "a man of Kerioth." (a city of Judah.)
