In our computers, we cant able to create folder name con ? any one know why?

These are reserved names.

CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8,

COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9.

This has been part of windows platform since DOS.. Can't not be edit or changed.....

because con is one of the reserved words left over from dos days, like LPT1, or COM1, con is short for console

It is because "CON" is a reserved Word.

There are many words which are reserved. "CON" is a short form for "Console". It is used in DOS command "COPY CON <FileName>".

It is used to create a file.

click on create a clean folder.. Rename it: form this: con+alt+0160 then enter... dont form "+" form con first then press alt and without leaving alt press 0160... Its completed... get exhilaration from...

Follow the procedures to create CON folder

STEP1: goto command prompt

STEP2: mkdir//./e:/con

And to delete

rmdir//./e:/con

wow i never noticed this... i guess it's a reserved word for windows.. i also tried com1, lpt1, and so on and i had the same behavior
