Why do Americans say they don't watch Football (soccer) because it is boring and yet they The Golf Channel?

AMERICANS ARE GOOD AT GOLF BUT SUCK AT SOCCER SO THEY ONLY DO WHAT THERE GOOD AT

It's a matter of personal taste and what you're famliar with. Many say soccer is "boring" because you could watch for a couple hours and the score would still be 0 to 0. The popularity of hockey is limited in the U.S. for the same reason, though it has the "violence" aspect that many like.

Golf isn't the most popular sport and many Americans find it boring...but not those who have played it. They understand the difficulty of each shot and the unique challenge of each hole and points are scored and the lead changes from moment to moment. Often the stakes are high and the final day has a peak drama. Even my spouse, who claims golf is boring, went absolutely nuts watching Tiger Woods a delicate putt with a wide curl from the left then to the right from 60 feet from off the green and make it.

Americans don't really understand how exciting soccer is because a large majority of people have not grown up with soccer. And a large majority have not played a game of soccer so that large majority does not know what they are talking about when you talk about soccer but when you say something about golf that is something that they will jump all over. Thats because golf is a sport they know about. To me golf is boring and soccer is the most exciting sport their is.

Good question. Golf is the dumbest 'sport' I've ever seen. Hit the ball, and follow is and hit it again. Woop de doo..

Because us Americans are just weird. Don't get me wrong a lot of us love soccer (me included), but it's just how we are.

because their just mad that they can't play soccer. and face it anyone can golf.
