Why do Americans say they don't watch Football (soccer) because it is boring and yet they The Golf Channel?

BTW, I think that American football is much more boring that soccer. 95% of the game is breaks and time out. Only 5% of the game is actual action.

Playing Golf is ok..watching Golf is the most boring thing on the planet. Soccer beats out Golf as far as watchability. Tennis too.

Because they understand the rules and stradegy of golf, as well as play the game themselves. With soccer they probably don't have a good understanding of the game and unless they are real young, they have never played soccer either.

Because we as Americans feel it a necessity to see lots of points lots of action. For example we play sports to see who wins and how many points we score. Others play for the shear enjoyment. Another issue is that sports betting is a huge business in american society and Soccer has a lack of points in it. Therefore it is difficult to bet on......
