Be sure to use some sort of product (they make all kinds in a variety of price ranges). Otherwise, it will eventually fry your hair. The product acts as a barrier. Other than that it is kind of easy...just clamp down on the hair and pull...carefully avoiding your scalp.

i find that it is best to use a straightening product (a spray) helps hair get (and stay!) straight. Then start at about 3 inches from the root (to avoid flat hair--you still want some volume up top!) and smooth it down!

You just plug it in, wait until it's hot, then put it on your hair and pull on it. (Be caurful, it's hot!!!)
