why are thease ducks lossing a patch of feathers...?

i have 2 baby ducks, they are both lossing a patch of feathers on there neck, whats wrong?

    Parasites can cause this....have your vet check them out regardless. It could also be a dominance thing....whereby they pick at one another, or, it could also be they are molting and while they'll lose that downy soft plumage, their adult feathers are starting to appear.

  • sometimes the dominant one will pull the other ones feathers out..its a sign of aggression.

    they are more than likely molting. it is when they shed their feathers and grow new ones. it is 100% normal
