Are "Viewtiful Joe" and "Devil May Cry" made by the same guy?

DON'T TELL ME CAPCOM MAKES THEM, I KNOW THAT!!!!

I want to know WHO at capcom created them, 'cause I see a lot of Devil May Cry references in Viewtiful Joe (Dante from DMC is a bonus character in the PS2 version of VJ)

    Yes, Hideki Kamiya directed both games.
