Need help with 3D video card?

My boyfriend's friend gave him a 3D card to put into my Gateway since it doesn't have one, but when we opened up the computer, it looked like it was all one whole board. Is there a way I can replace the existing card with the new 3D one?

if your computer has a video card in it remove it if not just plug the new video card in and install the drivers if you have a VGA video card and your mortarboard doesn't have a VGA slot your out of luck if you are able to install the new video card be sure to go into your BIOS and disable your on board video drivers

probably you can, but you're too vague. you should tell what mainboard you have and what's the name of the 3D graphics card. Is there a ca. 4 inch long and free slot (brown or black) on the mainboard?

If you don't know what type of mainboard you have, get the the little but great program CPU-Z from http://www.cpuid.com,/ install it and it will tell you. Add the 2 specifications to your question.

Getting a sparkling equipment is fantastically low-priced, and the swifter you want the more desirable $$$ you want to spend. If it is an older Gateway, you can't, they are the hardest computers to work on, if it is newer, there should be several "slots" that they will plug into. Gateway tech support is one of the best so I have been told, you might want to call them.
