Plants do need oxygen to undergo cellular respirtation. They give it off after photosynthesis which requires CO2. Certain types of archaebacteria use methane, sulfur dioxide, and a few other compounds to undergo cellular respiration in places with no oxygen, like underwater volcano vents. Some organism, yeast for example, can reproduce without oxygen or another compound by means of anaerobic respiration.

Of course there very well could be on other planets but there are also some bacteria that are similar ot the first bacteria to inhabit the Earth and for these bacteria Oxygen is poisonous os there are life forms which inhale a different gas

And by the way, plants DO require Oxygen otherwise they could't respire and produce energy so would die.

Plants donot require o2 for there survival. They need only co2 for respiration. It is an interesting fact that viruses can survive without o2.They remain with life inside a vacuum tube for days together.
