How do i Install a new video card for a HP Pavillion 4540?

i plug in the card and windows does not detect it and the PCI Slot is working according to the device manager. HELPPP!!!

I dont have the device CD

    You will also need to change the jumpers to disable the onboard video (VGAEN):

    as for the cd, visit the video card mfr's website and look for the drivers there.

    Assuming you've got the card fully "seated" (pushed into the slot all the way), then if Windows isn't detecting it, the card doesn't work.

    if u have a cd with the video card use it its the driver software
