Are people colder since 911?

Seems to me that since 911 people don't want to make friends. I have tried 3 states and it's the same in each one. I have never had a problem making friends.

I am not sure that people are really colder per se but many of us were deeply affected by 9/11.

It really changed life here in a very big way.

Hi, Thanks for your answers, I thought I would see if I could help you. I think people have been hardened by the experience, especially to outsiders, suspicious, etc. And they are protective of family. On the flip side. I live in a small town on the west coast. And I noticed a coming together as family to help each other. So while people are colder to outsiders, they seem to have warmed up to insiders within their circles. One way to join a new circle is to give community service, get involved. Its harder in a big city. But there are ways to earn others trust. Usually selfless service works well to open doors.

  • i agree with (sweet) it really has changed life here and not just for us here but for people out side of USA
