I know exactly what you are going through. One of my sons used to develop wicked sinus infections and used to have to take antibiotics as well. However, in the meantime, I used to tell him to take a really hot bath, as hot as he could stand it, and let the steam work on his sinuses. Also, drinking steaming hot chicken broth used to help a lot.
"Although home remedies cannot cure sinus infection, they might give you some comfort.
Inhaling steam from a vaporizer or a hot cup of water can soothe inflamed sinus cavities.
Saline nasal spray, which you can buy in a drug store, can give relief.
Gentle heat applied over the inflamed area is comforting."

It takes 48 hrs. for an antibiotic to "kick in". You should begin to see a lessening of your symptoms at that time. I'm afraid there's no miracle cure for the stuffiness and headache as this is a result of the infection. I would think your doctor would've prescribed an analgesic such as Vicodin. Ask for it. In the meantime, try ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Warm wet compresses to the affected area can help for immediate relief. Good luck with this, I know how it feels. Incidentally, I looked at the other answers and they will not help your condition.

I feel for you...Have sinus problem that NO ONE can find a reason for, blinding headaches!
Saltwater nose drops...will burn like hell, but within a few minutes, will stop and you will start to feel better. To dry up the sinuses, (if that is what you want), use Cholortrimiton (sp???) Does the trick quickly, may make you drowsy for a while. Has NOT relationship to sudanefrin.
IF you do not get the infection under control, you may well need to have your sinuse scraped...I wish that would help me, for I have no known cure for my problems. WIth great sympathy, good luck.

The best remedy is nothing but taking in fresh morning oxygen. Go for jogging. Join up swimming. The more you take antibiotics, the more side effects, more frustration and no solution.
If you do YOGA - Refer your YOGA teacher about PRANAYAM exercices. These are breathing exercises. Learn it from an Indian teacher.
My cousin got relief from severe sinus problem by following above tips. You can get rid of sinucitis witHout antibiotics by PRANAYAM.

Ask your doc to give you a presciption for Flonase. It is awesome for "unstuffing" your head!
