Why can't "The Da Vinchi Code" be true?

the actual story is false, (which is what Dan Brown said, not the entire book), but he bases the book on an actual conspiracy theory which could very well be true. Some of the institutions described in the book, such as the Knights Templar and the Priory of Sion are documented to have existed.

Therefore, it is really up to you whether you believe the conspiracy. There is evidence to suggest both arguments. People who completely dismiss it as false and tell you there is NO truth in the book are probably avid Christians - it could be true. But admitting this would undermine the entire faith.

I don't believe Dan Brown has ever said it's fiction. Most of the Davinci Code is true, although, some parts are not. You have to do your own research, don't just read a book and say if something is real of not. If you're christian, then it's ALL fake. If you're superstitious, it's all real. If you want the truth, research.

The Davinci Code actually has many true historical facts. The Priory of Sion, the Knights Templar, etc.. are all real organizations. Of course, some of the things he brings up are VERY controversial, such as the Holy Grail and Jesus(which is a controversial issue anywhere).

The things fake in this book is:

(1) How Dan Brown interprets things, such as why the Louve is triangle.

(2) The events when describing Sion.

(3) Other facts given.

It's very complicated, I truly suggest doing your own research.

Because the underlying theory to the Da Vinci Code was stolen from a book, Holy Blood, Holy Grail, that is a more or less admitted falsification to make the author and his ancestors look cool by claiming descent from Christ. Not only that such a theory presupposes that there was a massive 2000 year old conspiracy to hide the truth about Christ from us. Well if he were married and had children with Mary Magdalene, why does no reliable source make mention of it? Moreover, even if Jesus did procreate, which He didn't, He said His kingdom is not of this world, making any children he may or may not have had more or less irrelevant to Christianity and its Truth. Also, all of the art interpretation such as that of Da Vinci's Last Supper is dubious. The figure he claims to be Mary Magdalene is St. John the Evangelist. It is just a story. The whole thing is completely made up or plagiarized from things that were also completely made up.

Coz although the information about the ILLUMINATI , PRIORY OF SCION, and all the stuff is true. the story is still a fabrication - a fiction , which Dan Brown himself admits. DO YOU really think there's some Robert Langdon, or that everything actually Happened!!!!!

Because the Priory of Sion at the heart of the book didn't come into existence until 1956.

It is a nice fiction story as fiction can be the true story that is officially accepted as true... Nobody of us was there to know whats really happened if it happened. So, its a fiction as the whole History of the world can be part fiction part true. Brown use history this way... part fiction, part true...

The author tells you it isn't true! If you want truth, read the Bible, which directly contradicts this work from a man's head.

Because the author, Dan Brown, says it is fiction, from his own imagination...
