First of all take off the old nail polish (if the nails is painted) then, you have to file them and buff them.If the nail has a yellowish apperance take an emery board and file them softly until the yellow color is gone, then, use some cuticle oil and pass ir in your nails before buffing them, then buff them. there's a very nice buffer that you can find it in Sally Beauty Supply that polishes the nail very nicely without damaging it. Finally with acetone or alcohol take any residues of cuticle oil and polish the nails with a base coat and then put on youre favorite nail color and your'e ready to go!!!

Go to a salon...no just joking, it's all in what quality emory board you use. the more you sand and shape the smoother it will be.

you have to buff them, there is a special stone or brush to do this... go to a beauty supply store and ask, they will help you.... I know there is something out there that if you buff them, the nails will shine as if you were wearing polish..... Hugs
