GM USES A SYSTEM OF REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTION CODES (RPO) TO DESCRIBE THE BUILD OF ANY VEHICLE. THEY ARE THREE CHARACTER CODES FOUND ON A "BUILD SHEET". Z71 IS A SUSPENSION OPTION. C60 IS AIR CONDITIONING. LS1 IS IS THE CODE USED FOR A SPECIFIC 5.7 LITER ENGINE. LG4 WOULD BE A 5.0. MD8 WOULD BE A 4L60 OR THM400 TRANSMISSION. THEY HAVE A CODE FOR EVERYTHING. THAT IS JUST THE ONE THEY PICKED FOR THAT ENGINE.
