I remember when I saw the Fall Preview TV Guide's write up of a new sort of show, Star Trek. From then on I was in love. I bemoaned the idiocy of canceling the show and read the fan fiction and even attended a few conventions. Star Trek was gonna live long and prosper even if it was off the air. Then the first movie came out and it was time to rejoice.

Then someone got the idea to bring it back to TV but they were gonna do it a little different. WHAT? What were they talking about? How could you possibly have Star Trek without Kirk, Spock and Bones? Impossible. I was soooooo ready to hate hate hate this show that I was just as eager for its arrival has I was for the original.

And then I watched it. Star Trek Next Generation is hands down and by far the best of them all. The original is still in my heart but STNG had the advantage of better special effects, sets and props. They had real heart and soul in the stories and while I will alwas love Captain Kirk, I would follow Jean Luc Piccard across the galaxy and be happy to serve.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine was not Star Trek, how ya gonna trek in a stationary station? They soon realized that mistake and gave them a snazzy little space cruiser to go trekking about once in awhile.

Voyager was a confused mess. By this time, for the sake of novelty, the entire dynamic of the show, so concice in the original, so cleverly sliced and diced and mixed and matched in STNG was completly obliterated in Voyager. No disrespect meant to Captain Janeway, but I wouldn't cross the street for her. They recognized the mystake and got the skin tight suited Seven of Nine on board quick fast and in an hurry. The Borg angle at least gave the show some tangible focus other than the "searching for a way home" line that we all knew was never gonna happen as long as the show could be renewed.

Enterprise. What the f*** is up with that? That ain't Star Trek no way, I don't care what they say. It is a fair to middling space show but it ain't Star Trek in anyway shape or form

    What's your favorite color?

For me, Gene Roddenberry's vision of a hopefully future where human dignity is cherished and everyone works to achieve they're personal potential is what makes Star Trek interesting. And, again for me, the original series was the best.

It's pretty hard watching the old series with the cheesy low-budget effects, but the stories were more dramatic and touched on deeper themes than later series. That many of the original series stories were written by SF authors made it special for me -- that and the mini-skirts.

    Live long and prosper

Star Trek TNG. Better actors and effects. The story lines were good also.

Depends how much tension and action you like. But in my opinion, the best movies are #3, 4 and 8. The best series is Deep Space Nine, because the stories are different and the ship they have is, too. Plus I like the idea of a Federation ship having a cloaking device. Ezri Dax, too.

If we are talking about the movie and not TV episodes. I liked the one were voyager comes back with so much data that its a mega mass heading towards earth and only the Enterprise and their crew figured out the mystery of it.

As far as the TV series, liked the one where the planet they landed on was nothing but kids and found out that a disease was killing any one that reached puberty.

I love SNG, Voyager and DS9. I like the shape shifters and watching the episodes with the Borg.

Anything that involves space travel works for me.

TOS is the best because TNG is so goofy and boring FX dont really make a show, it's more about class in my opinion...TOS was swingin' baby! Picard never got his groove on like kirk
