American friends, are your goverment listening to you?
I am not American but I questioning this because I belief that you are the most democratic people that I know. I read that so many of you do not agree of your own goverment policy on a lot of matter. But what is the point being so democratic if your goverment doesn't hear your voice? What are you going to do about this? Cheerz...

That is why we vote so often. Poloticians get comfortable in office. They need to be replaced on a regular basis to keep them honest.

It is strange that for such a 'democratic country' the government doesn't hear the voices of the people. Isn't this self-defeating? I do believe that there are many deep thinking and concerned Americans who would wish that many of the country's policies were other than they are. But, as an outsider, it is hard to find these voices. It is presented in the media and on the Internet as being unpatriotic, as unAmerican. These are strange times. Let's hope they pass soon and genuine democracy can return.

I don't think the government does too much listening. They have their plan, they get into power and spend all the time they have instituting it, aware that (at least in the oval office) the time they have is limited. I will say that local governments do a better job of paying attention to constituents than the federal government...basically, though, they're all scumbags.
